Dog World — Update August 2026, demo available
Hello fellow dogwalkers, since our last update in December of last year, we’ve released a demo and implemented a slew of updates across various systems, including a new UI/HUD, a new dog, and a tutorial.
Updates
UI & HUD
We’ve redesigned the UI for when you are and are not walking a dog, our “heads-up display” (HUD). We’ve done so for improved readability, clearer iconography, and more consistent feedback, ensuring that important information remains visible and understandable during active gameplay. In addition to the 2025 draft, we’ve added and moved visual helper buttons such as Pet, Leash/Unleash, Phone, Walk, Sprint, Call Back, and you can hide the quest log from your screen if you would prefer to check it on your phone.
Tutorial
The tutorial aims to help first-time players better understand the game’s mechanics and controls. This is part of the same effort to make the game feel more welcoming and easier to pick up. Of course, you can skip the tutorial if you want to jump into the story first. We will continue to add new sections to the tutorial as we develop new systems and in accordance to game balance and narrative.
Bezel, our cute pug
We’ve created Bezel as a way to ease-in and familiarize players with our world and mechanics after being handheld in the tutorial. And also as an easier alternative to our dynamic duo of Drago and Sara. (That comes with benefits for development too!)
As a side-note about our story and narrative, Bezel is one of our dogs that will feature in the story and will be one of the first dogs, and the story only ramps up on the next day together with Drago and Sara.
General updates and optimizations
We’ve conducted, among other things, several optimizations of our assets, for their compression and internal format, to reduce our memory (RAM) footprint and free-up CPU and GPU resources,

Dog World is stepping onto the streets for players to experience firsthand! Try it out here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4386310/Dog_World_Demo/
Now you too can take on the role of a dog walker in a living city environment, guiding dogs through busy streets, unexpected situations and everyday challenges. This marks an important milestone for the project, opening the doors for player feedback and allowing us to refine the experience based on real interactions. It is an opportunity to test the core gameplay loop, observe how players interact with the systems and continue improving Dog World towards its full release.
